The LAMY Fountain Pen Lx is a functional and stylish writing instrument made of lightweight aluminum. Its shape is similar to that of the classic Lamy Safari from 1980. Instead of ABS plastic, the barrel of the fountain pen is made of anodized aluminum and the handle is made of a robust, transparent copolyester (PCTG). The transparent handle, which is equipped with two recessed grips, provides an inside view of the fountain pen and breaks its smooth, shimmering appearance in an elegant way.

The Lamy Lx is 139 mm long and is therefore wonderful to hold in the hand. It is equipped with the most common nib width (M) and can be equipped with a fountain pen nib of a different width or a nib for lefthanders.

Lamy tests all pen assemblies with highly diluted ink and makes a writing sample which is evaluated visually and acoustically. After this sample, the pen is rinsed with clear water and dried. In some cases, remnants of these ink-colored particles can settle and be visible in the pen area. They do not indicate that the pen was previously used but demonstrate Lamy’s uncompromising quality control.
